Birthday Parties at McDonald’s
|
We list almost 2000 McDonald’s Restaurants with Play Places, where you can have your next birthday party. You can either search by location, or get all locations for one of the McDonald’s operators below and refine the search for your local area.
- Still one of the cheapest ways to have a birthday party. It may be even cheaper than a party at home! Prices vary, based on area, but you may have a party for ten children at an overall cost of something between $60 and $100. This may include all Happy Meals, ice cream, the party favors and balloons, a white or chocolate birthday cake.
- Easy to setup. A McDonald’s employee will act as your party attendant, serve the party and cleanup after. You do nothing but watch after the kids as they play.
- There is a McDonalds Restaurant at almost every corner, about a quarter of them with Play Places, where kids can play and have fun on soft playgrounds.
- Kids from one year old to 12 can enjoy such party. They already know about and love Ronald McDonald the clown, and the toys coming with the Happy Meals. All popular food for kids is on place: cheeseburgers or chicken nuggets, fries, salad, ice cream and cake, orange juice or soda as drinks.
At least two or three weeks in advance, locate a McDonalds Restaurant in your area. You can look for it in our directory, where we already have over two thousands McDonalds restaurants in US and Canada combined. We listed only McDonalds restaurants with Play Places and/or McDonalds birthday parties officially advertised, so you’ll not waste your time with other hundreds of stores not well suited for your goal.
You have several options:
- McDonalds restaurants with Playland or Play Place, that host McDonalds birthday parties upon reservation of their private party room. This is the best place to have your birthday party. For some local operators, the McDonalds birthday packages are also advertised on the web, and they may offer more than the “standard” package.
- McDonalds restaurants with Playland or Play Place, but no separate party room. They may not regularly host birthday parties, but you can still come over with no reservation, occupy the tables around the soft play area and have a nice party.
- McDonalds restaurants with no play area, but with birthday parties, in a private room. Kids can still have fun, your McDonalds hostess can bring the entertainment and children will enjoy the flavor of a McDonalds birthday party at their favorite restaurant.
Try to visit in advance the McDonalds restaurant and the party room, and make sure the soft area is safe and parking available. Ask if they will have enough variety of toys for the Happy Meals on the planned date.

You can order the birthday cake at most McDonalds with birthday parties. Your overall cost for the party will include the birthday cake and, for each child, the Happy Meal, an ice cream and a goody bag. Be ready to order various Happy Meals, because some like cheeseburgers, others chicken nuggets. Kids may get thirsty and you may be in need to order additional drinks. You’re not allowed to bring food from outside.
Kids will likely spend about half an hour in the party room before and after they play. Before, to have the lunch and enjoy the Happy Meals. And after, for the cake, to sing Happy Birthday, open the presents and receive the goody bags.
The Play Place is frequently open to the public, but in some cases they can close it off and you might have the whole place to yourself, for about an hour.
The disadvantage of an open play area is your guests will get mixed up with other kids and strangers. The benefit is you can stay as much as you want. There is no limit of time for your McDonalds birthday party, except for the party room. You have to leave this room when your time expires, because there may be other parties and a cleanup is required. In some popular restaurants, this may be a problem, at the transition from one scheduled party to another. When a party is over, kids and their parents may not leave immediately and it can get a bit cozy.
It’s your role, as a parent, to watch the kids and make sure nobody gets hurt while they play. Kids take their shoes off when they play. Just make sure they have their shoes on when they go to the washrooms, and have at least one other parent around, to accompany them.A party attendant will serve your guests, with Happy Meals and the birthday cake. Some party attendants are also good entertainers and bring additional fun. It is however unlikely they will dress-up in Ronald McDonald the Clown, unless something like this is already advertised in the McDonalds birthday package at that specific restaurant. If you are satisfied with the service, you may also leave a tip for the attendant once the party is over.
Party at Home
As alternative, you can set up a McDonalds birthday party at your house.
Prepare or buy cheeseburgers, hamburgers, chicken nuggets, french fries and/or ice cream. Serve lunch in Happy Meal bags you can purchase or get for free from your local McDonalds restaurant. Buy some orange drink mix, a drink dispenser you can rent, and a sleeve of cups with McDonald’s logo on them.
Try to rent and dress-up in a Ronald McDonald costume. Or hire a clown or another party entertainer. Make balloon animals and paint faces, to make them look like Ronald McDonald, Hamburgler, the Fry Guys, the Grimace or other popular characters. Use special crayons, that come off easily with soap and water, and do not stain.
Paint Ronald McDonald’s face on the birthday cake and play Ronald McDonald Bingo. Decorate with red and white streamers.
(McDonald’s® and Happy Meal® are or may be registered trade marks of McDonald’s Corporation. We also used in this text improper terms like McDonalds or McDonalds’, just to make it easier for people to find this article on the web.)

i had a party for my 8year old son there last year. he wants another one this year–his ninth, i cant believe they are all still into it but they are, all the kids had fun and that makes it worth it- to me personally though i thought the skinny little pathetic cake loaded with what tasted like oversweet whipped cream/icing and the sad/cheap little gifts were not worth the money. But like i said, to the kids it was a hit so i will do it again. |

Your MCD locator doesn’t work properly. When keying in Raleigh, NC or 27603 it comes up with Virginia properties, not Raleigh. |

We have great McDonalds playplaces around here, so we’re looking forward to a fun, relaxing time for our daughters birthday. The kids like to go there anytime to play so I’m sure the party will be a hit! |

I’m looking to have a McDonald’s birthday party for my 18th birthday. It sounds so lame, I know. But I think it would be awesome at the same time. I remember the parties I had there when I was younger, and having a kiddie party on my first day as an adult would just be cute to me. It would be all about showing how I’m still a kid at heart. Since I’m too old, I would probably just have a bunch of friends there and order food off the dollar menu and have birthday hats without the official party. I’d probably go in the Play Place too, since I look young and I went in over the summer and no one said anything, I could probably pass for a 12 year old. Anyway, that’s in August and I’ll definitely be excited to have my last McDonald’s birthday party, haha. |

We had our sons 6th birthday party at a McDonalds this past weekend (Ontario, Canada)..Overall I recommend it. Our hostess was fabulous, the kids had a blast, and I loved not having to set up/clean up afterwards! I had 12 kids and paid $135 I think…..well worth it!! |

i think it would be ridicilous if they did not allow your 30 year old daughter to rent the play place. just check before hand with the proper authorities? just as long as your daughter is not obese- as this could pose a problem of putting unnecessary weight on the structure or her gettign stuck in the tube slides. |

I had my daughter’s party at my local McDonalds and it was a hit for her. I feel we all had a great time and the host was a big help although we did some of the handing out of the cake but he helped us with most of everything, I wish they had a private area but it still worked out. We have a small resturant with a play area and all the kids had one great time. I paid 68.00 for a total of 11 children. You can’t beat the price. My daughter asked if we could have it there again next yr. Will deffinitly have it there again next yr. |

I am going to do my soon to be 3yr old’s birthday party at McDonald’s and can’t wait, based on the responses I have read here…I am looking forward to it as I picked one of the ten Musical playplaces around the world…I am not buying for adults though…as when I was a kid, this is how it was done, and adults take advantage at kids’ parties, and some don’t even bring a gift, so I am saving money this time… |

I had my son’s 2nd birthday party at McDonald’s and it was GREAT!!!! I had about 20 kids and paid less than $100, cheapest party location in my area. I only brought foods for the kids and brought an extra cake for my adult guests. He’s turning 4 this year and I am thinking about doing it again. |

Well, we had his party Saturday. He had a GREAT time. And so did his guests. They enjoyed their happy meals, the cake & ice cream AND the play place! It was so nice for mom, too. Now prep, stress or clean up. All the kid’s goodie bags were done, as was the food, cake/ice cream and entertainment. I only wish our CD player would have been allowed, but I understand their policy on music. Otherwise, we had a VERY pleasant experience. My son had a blast and that’s what counted most. Hooray for Donald’s!! (<- his word for McDonald’s) |
