Ice Skating Birthday Parties
Options
Parties can be organized on outdoor rinks, but you’re usually looking for indoor ice rinks, from sports centers or community arenas.
Beside good music and light shows, many ice rinks try to go even further and provide additional attractions, such as mascots or inflatable bouncers installed directly on ice.
Safety
If you’re not already familiar with ice skating, there is protective equipment (including the helmet) you can buy or rent. Don’t take risks: ice is hard and you can get seriously hurt.Unless most kids in your group already love skating, or would like to give it a try, this kind of party can potentially demand a greater deal for those afraid to skate. It is a challenge for a beginner and some friends could eventually deny your invitation just for this reason.
There is usually a rink supervisor who takes care of people skating too fast or dangerously. Bad jokes are not usually allowed, because they can lead to injuries.Unless you booked a private party, you’ll have to share the ice with strangers.
Cost
Parties are usually scheduled during the public skating hours, in the weekend. Private parties are harder to book. Even if it’s possible to do it, it’s obviously pretty expensive to rent a whole large skating rink just for your group.
Unless each kid has his/her own skates, some will need to rent them.
Checklist
Get information about how cozzy that rink can be at the hour you reserved your party. Most parties are scheduled during the weekend and the public skating sessions, so expect your group will not be alone on the ice.
Make sure your guests are aware about what an Ice Birthday Party means and come prepare.
