Lots of Movie Theatres offer now birthday packages, with special prices on popcorns and soda and even private rooms, where you can have more fun with your frinds before or after the show. Among the largest movie chains there are Cinemark/Century, Marcus, Crown, Consolidated Theatres in US, and Cineplex Entertainment and Empire Theatres in Canada. But smaller local theatres can offer even more appealing prices and entertainment. We have them here and the list continues to grow up!

We are not aware at this time of birthday packages offered by large chains such as Regal Entertainment, AMC, Carmike Cinemas, National Amusements, Kerasotes or Hollywood Theatres, but they will be included here as soon as we’ll see them doing so.

Movie in the Dark

You can even rent the entire auditorium for your private group, but the price can start at $300 or more. For most cases, you get a private room where you and your friends can spend one hour before and after the show. A host will then move your group in the auditorium and take care of their fast food needs. The movie theatres can eventually have additional entertainment, such as arcade games or extra-food.

IMAX Theatres offer better movie experiences, better seating, larger screens. Some are located in Science Centers or within other attraction areas, so you can expand your party with other amusements. Most are owned by different other chains, but we grouped them together to be quickly identified.

Host on-hand during event. But adult supervision required (minimum 1 adult for every n children). Minimum/maximum number of guests required: min 8-10, max 20+, max age about 13.

Cake

Parties are usually held during the week, prior to publically scheduled showtimes, typically from 9:00 a.m. and to conclude before the public showtimes are scheduled to begin. Auditorium can be rented for specific period of time before/after the movie. Before: can enjoy cake and open gifts. During the show, if not private, can have reserved area.

Choice of currently playing movie, tickets purchased separately or with group discount. Choice of movie cannot be always confirmed in advance.

Some movie chains offer online accessories, to create personalized party invitations. Movie meals (popcorns, soft drinks, candies…) for each guest. Cake/gift table set-up in the auditorium for your personal use.

Safety

Keep track of the kids when they leave during the movie and go to the toilets. Try not to leave them alone. It’s rather better to go with them and temporarly leave the large group to continue watch the movie.

Cost

Prices vary. Consider several hundred $ for 20 people.

Deposit may be required for booking. Customer may provide decor and cake, cupcakes, cookies, etc.
