Sports Birthday Parties
Options
Introduce your kid (and his friends) to a new sport with a Sports Birthday Party! They will not only have fun, but will also learn a valuable lesson. Or just rent a field and let them have fun with their favourite sport.
If baseball is your field of dreams then take a wack at the safe Batting Cages you’ll find for rent in many amusement parks or sports centers. They usually start with slow pitch and move up to over 90 mph (faster than cannon balls!) pro cage hardball. For softball, they may have other cages to challenge and help you.
Most recreation, community, sports or fitness centres with dedicated sport rooms offer Sports Birthday Parties for team-oriented sports like volleyball, basketball, soccer or football, tenis and badminton as well. Get your friends, play one or several games for an hour or so, then retire into their private party room and serve foods, drinks and the cake. Kids can easily combine fun with lessons provided by highly trained staff.
If you like golf, look for Driving Ranges on golf fields and practice with your guests.
Most other sports you will not find here have been already separated into a special theme. That’s it for Martial Arts, Mini Golf, Rock Climbing, Bowling, Laser Tag and Paintball, Ice and Roller Skating, Gymnastics, Aquatic (for Swimmimg, Beach and Pool Volleyball), some Arcade Games. Sports for toddlers are rather grouped under Playground, and Go Karts under Motor Sports.

Game rules are easy to learn and let you improvise. Or there are no rules at all and everybody gets a big laugh.
Safety
For some sports you may be required a waiver (release of responsibility) signed by parents/guardians, if you’re underaged and the sport involves a certain risk of injury. Check on the websites and make sure you sent the form to all your guests and they have it signed, otherwise you’ll not be able to play.Choose softball Batting Cages for kids, not hardball.
Remember that any competitive sport you play on your birthday should be rather played for fun, not to win. Try to avoid scheduling a serious competitive game on this date, you won’t like to spoil the day if you loose or create conflicts.
Cost

It’s good to look for and consider a birthday package, because you may get an all-included deal (field, party room, fast food and drinks) for a very good price, at around $100 for 10 people, one hour playing and one hour relaxing in the party room and sharing thoughts after the game. In most cases, the cake is up to you.
Checklist
Check if a waiver is required for the specific sport you chose. Make sure you send the form to all your guests (with the invitations) and that they bring it signed by a parent or guardian.
Remember that on a birthday party nobody should loose. Don’t play to win, play for fun. The choice of sport must consider what other players know about it. Avoid mixing-up too experienced players with beginners. Some may get bored, others feel frustrated. A successfull Sports Birthday Party should not leave the impression someone has to prove something, either how good or how bad some players are
After a team-oriented sport, it’s essential to have a separate party room or picnic area, where people can change, relax and have fun chatting about the game you played.
